Needs improvement

Action Hank August 11, 2012

While this cabinet is easy to assemble and was well finished, there were two bent corners which had to be straightened with a rubber mallet before it would fit together. In addition, the flimsy foam barrel rests are too shallow to provide any standoff for rifles with carrying handles or scopes, and provide no structural support against lateral motion because of their weak construction. Finally, the foam padding on the bottom of the cabinet is not particularly thick or resilient.

great value easy to assemble.

I have had this gun locker for about 3-5 years now. I found it easy to assemble when I purchased it and it has served me well for the time I have owned it, do not know what foam the other guy mentioned that is not durable has all the items that came with the locker are still with it and still in use. the stand offs that came with it to be used with scoped or AR style weapons function as designed and are hard plastic I have a remington 700 milspec with scope and it has lots of room. in a nut shell " it works" great value and secure storage if you want humidity control or fire retardent this is not the safe but they make this great so look at thier other products.

$ for $ - A Good Product

Satisfied Buyer February 2, 2013

I wanted a cabinet that offered basic security. I've had the 8-gun model a couple of years and am about to order a second to attach along with a pistol/ammo add-on. My original cabinet had a small scratch and the door was bent a little at the corner on the bottom. However, these were carrier issues, not manufacturing, and it only took me a few minutes to do the repair. For less than $150 I have a cabinet that keeps everyone out but me. If you need or want burglar/fire protection, mortgage the house and go shopping for a safe. This is, as described, a cabinet.

2 beer job

NEWSHOOTER March 25, 2013

Just finished taking my classes for PAL & hunting license here in the great white north. Saw this unit was on sale $90 so I picked it up and took a good hour putting it together. Have a electric screw driver or small drill handy before you start, there are so many nuts and bolts your hand will give out before you can finish.Went together easily and fits into a closet with room to spare. Good value for the money and meets storage requirments in Canada .

Safety at an affordable price

PopPop73068 April 4, 2013

I purchased both a pre-assembled 8 gun cabinet, and a Ready-to-Assemble 8 gun cabinet. The pre-assembled model arrived minus the keys (cardboard lid was torn in shipping and keys fell out). With only a phone call, a picture of the key # (on back of cabinet), and a copy of proof of purchase (invoice), the last two items to prevent unauthorized persons from getting duplicate key. I received a new set of keys as quick as UPS could get them to me. I prefer the pre-assembled model as it is a couple inches taller and wider than the Ready-to-Assemble model, and holds the guns in plastic cups instead of foam. I have bolted the two together, as well as securing to floor and wall (hardware included). Perfect for securing weapons from unauthorized persons, yet quick and easy access to contents when needed. While they won't stop someone with power tools and time to open, they wont be opened using just standard tools very easy. The full length hinge and the three point locking system meet and exceed all expectations for the price. Highly recommended. Only real con is dark interior, which is easily fixed with a can of Krylon spray paint.

Great Addition

Top Gun March 24, 2014

This is my third Stack-On purchase, just won a new rifle in a raffle and was out of space in the other cabinet and naturally it won't fit in my hand gun cabinet. Bothe of the others were assembled when I bought them but this one wasn't but assemble was a breeze and took about an hour for two of us working together. I know that they aren't as secure as the vaults with combinations locks etc. but I feel that once they are mounted and securely attached to the wall studs they will provide enough of an obstacle for anyone trying to steal my stuff to think twice. Thanks for a good product at a good price.

8 gun stack on cabinet

cougan February 6, 2014

Bought this on sale for $90 spent about a hour and 30 minutes putting it together was surprised at how sturdy it is and it also looks really good. i put the shelf in upside down so nothing falls off, i also put some carpet on the sides and floor and made barrel supports with a jig saw out of scrap 2x4 drilled a few holes in the sides to attach them also put carpet on them. i cut a 3in x 12in and a 3in x 24 in strips of scrap 1/8 in aluminum put in back and floor to secure to the stand and a stud, this makes it a lot harder to pry off its anchoring and gives you pretty secure storage for a few dollars. For less than a $100 and a couple of hours some scrap material you have a good looking secure storage for 6-8 guns that is as good as any you could buy or build for $300 or more DEFINITELY A FIVE STAR RATING good going stack on

Had a few problems

whmossjr September 15, 2014

When my unit arrived almost all of the corners were bent, some pretty badly. It took some time to hammer them out and get the holes reasonable lined up. The directions were very poor, but I figured them out. Absolutely no guidelines for which end of the locking mechanism goes on which end of the door, The drawings are hard to see. Very frustrating. I agree with some of the other reviews, the cabinet is sturdier than I expected and once I got the holes lined up it became very tight and it didn't wobble at all. The foam inserts were very poor compared to the rest of the unit. It's a shame, because a little bit better quality control and you would have a great product. I hope you will correct these issues. I will make a few modifications myself and I think it will do nicely.

Strong but rack is sub standard

Matt D January 21, 2015

Well built and meets my needs. Don't like the flimsey foam gun racks. Racks don't work for a rifle with a scope. I sent two e-mails to customer service to find a slution, no response. It keeps my rifles safe but without a good rack system you could damage your weapons.
